Power Outage on Orcas – RESOLVED – 8/10/22
A lightning strike took down power on the west side of Orcas which affected several of our local broadcasters. Power has since been restored and all stations are up and running.

A power outage is currently affecting parts of Orcas Island, including the Eastsound area. We are monitoring the status of the outage.
Maintenance Outage for greater Rosario area, Orcas Island – COMPLETED – 6/30/22
We have finished relocating our gear and all connections are back up. Over the coming days we will be fine-tuning individual customer links that were affected by the move.
Maintenance Outage for greater Rosario area, Orcas Island – 6/30/22
We are relocating our broadcasters that serve the areas around Rosario and Vusario due to construction work. The relocation will proceed throughout the afternoon with intermittent connection loss during that time. Once finished all connections should resume normally.
Connection Disruptions on Orcas Island – RESOLVED – 6/21/22
Reseating the cables at the affected Orcas broadcast point has restored normal connectivity to affected customers. After observing the connection over the previous day we did not see a reoccurrence of any of the issues that had started over the weekend.
Connection Disruptions on Orcas Island – 6/20/22
Over the weekend we saw several of our smaller networks suffer capacity drops that affected their overall performance. After some diagnoses and maintenance work earlier today the connections appear to have stabilized.
Several of our connections in the greater Eastsound area and on the isthmus of Orcas Island are having performance issues that we have traced to a backbone link that feeds their network from our office. We are currently diagnosing the issue and if we are unable to restore it remotely we will have a technician go to the site on Tuesday the 21st.
Backbone radio issue on Orcas – RESOLVED – 06/16/2022
Our alternate link has proven stable and effective. We are no longer suffering capacity drops on the previously affected backbone link.
Backbone radio issue on Orcas – Alternate path – 06/14/2022
We have setup an alternate radio link to take over for the affected connection. The link is now in operation and passing traffic; and we will be monitoring it throughout the night. If its performance matches our requirements then it will become our primary link.
Backbone radio issue on Orcas – 3rd UPDATE – 06/13/2022
Some improvement has been noted on our affected backbone link, but we are still observing sporadic periods of lowered capacity. We have requested help from the radio’s manufacturer in diagnosing the issue and are currently reviewing performance data with them.

We have observed a somewhat increased level of reliability in our new devices, but the link has not proved completely stable. We are continuing our troubleshooting of the backbone link.
